Questions
Is PDF Tools Pro free?
Yes. The core tools are free to use with daily limits (5 exports a day). Pro is an optional one-time purchase that removes limits and unlocks extra tools.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. After installation the PDF tools work offline. OCR downloads each language's data once, then also works offline. Purchases, account restore and optional AI need a connection.
Which Windows versions are supported?
Windows 10 and Windows 11, installed from the Microsoft Store.
Is it the same as the website?
Yes. The Windows app and the website are the same app, and a Pro purchase can be restored on either with the email you bought it with. The Windows app adds a Start menu entry, opens PDFs from File Explorer, and appears in the Windows Share menu.
Can I open PDFs from File Explorer?
Yes. The app registers as a handler for PDF files and for JPG, PNG and WebP images, so you can open them with PDF Tools Pro.
